It is with heartfelt appreciation that the families of MDA in Alaska thank you for raising more than $55,000 in 2007. We could not continue to strive for a cure for muscular dystrophy without the loyal support of our Alaskan biker friends. MDA is again asking your support in the continuing fight against neuromuscular disease.

Live Ride ParadeOn Saturday, July 19, 2008 we will be conducting the 10th Annual Live Ride for MDA to the Central Peninsula Sports Center in Soldotna (approximately 145 miles) and fundraiser for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. All types and brands of motorcycles and motorcyclists are welcome to come and have a good time.

We ride from the Anchorage City Church and our destination is the Central Peninsula Sports Center.

The Live Ride for MDA typically makes stops for gas/comfort at Girdwood, Sunrise Inn, and Cooks Corner in Sterling. Come alone or in groups. Check with your local riding organization as they may already be planning to ride with us! Festivities at the sports center include a “carnival,” lunch, entertainment and much more!

  • What is the Live Ride for MDA?

The Live Ride for MDA is an annual fund raising event put on by MDA with the support of the Alaska Motorcycle Community!

ALL Participants (riders and passengers) purchase a packet ($50.00) and then raise funds prior to the ride. Each year, the ride leaves from the Anchorage (and now the MatSu Valley), making stops for fuel and snacks along the way.

Once the huge group of riders (of all motorcycle makes and models) reaches the Central Peninsula Sports Center in Soldotna, the riders will then be treated to festivities at the sports center including a "carnival," Arctic Attack Stunt Demo Team, and much more!

The riders who raise $800.00 are part of The Parade of Heroes  who participate in a special ride through the Central Peninsula Sports Center itself!

It is always impressive to watch the huge line of motorcycles file into the Sports Center, all there to help raise money and support for the continuing fight against Muscular Dystrophy!
